USAID's Local Governance Program in Albania (LGPA) works with ten municipalities throughout Albania to foster local economic growth, improve local governance, and strengthen civic and private sector engagement in local development. LGPA's partner municipalities, shown on the map at Partner Cities, are Elbasan, Fier, Fushë-Krujë, Gramsh, Korça, Kukës, Lezha, Librazhd, Pogradec, and Shkodra.

Tax Payer Services Improved in Kukes
KUKËS, JULY 9, 2010     The Mayor of Kukës, Hasan Halilaj and the Head of the USAID Mission in Albania, Joseph C. Williams launched today a new computerized tax system for the municipality.  The system, which was developed through USAID's Local Governance Program in Albania (LGPA), allows for more efficient and effective administration of tax collections and services that will lead to greater tax revenue for the municipality and improved services for citizens. Publication of Final Request for Applications (RFA)

JULY 30, 2010.   ARD, Inc., on behalf of USAID's Local Governance Program in Albania, and pursuant to the authority contained in the United States Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, is seeking applications from qualified non-U.S. Non-Governmental Organizations, and from U.S. Non-Governmental Organizations registered with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), to implement grant program components within the framework of ARD's Local Governance Program in Albania (LGPA).
